MANNHEIM GERMANY / NUTLEY, NJ, November 9th, 2025 – MELINA BUCHER, the award-winning German luxury label known for its material-driven design, has partnered with Modern Meadow, a leader in bio-design, to create the world’s first handbags using ISA Core| Powered by INNOVERA™ . This next-generation transformative material will be used on three sculptural handbags – LOULOU, BAILEY and TESSA East West Bag. INNOVERA™ is completely animal free and combines beauty, strength and sustainability in one material.
Sculptural Shapes Meet Sensual Softness
The collection debuts in deep chocolate tones and showcases three distinctive, geometric silhouettes. LOULOU, with its architectural half-moon form, balances a structured frame with supple suede sides. BAILEY, a structured handle bag, is crafted with sharp contours and reinforced with ELEVATE™ by Uncaged at handles and edges for easy day to day use. Completing the trio is TESSA, whose elongated proportions and architectural structure interprets the modern East-West style in biobased materials. Each handbag is handcrafted in MELINA BUCHER’s German atelier, uniting traditional craftsmanship with future-oriented material science.

Developed from Modern Meadow, a U.S.-based bio-design company, ISA Core | Powered by INNOVERA™ reimagines the essence of suede for a new era of luxury. Made from patented plant proteins, advanced biopolymers and recycled tire rubber, the material offers the velvety touch of suede while surpassing it in technical performance. It is lighter, more durable and resistant to abrasion and water, ensuring that each piece retains its beauty through daily wear. With more than 80 percent renewable or recycled carbon content, INNOVERA™ also sets a benchmark in sustainability, eliminating the ethical cost of animal-derived suede and offering a mainly biobased alternative to synthetic microfibers.
