Mercedes-Benz LABFIBER powered by INNOVERA™ is setting new standards in vehicle interiors
Stemming from a landmark collaboration between Mercedes-Benz and Modern Meadow, LABFIBER made its debut in the CONCEPT AMG GT XX as part of Mercedes-Benz's broader technology program. Created to advance this pioneering material toward series production, it signals the beginning of an entirely new chapter in automotive interior design.
Designed to mimic the look and feel of collagen found in natural leather, this bio-design material delivers the same design versatility as conventional materials — available across finishes including nubuck, full grain and suede, and adaptable to a wide range of colors and surface textures.
Entirely animal-free, LABFIBER is built from plant-based proteins, biopolymers and recycled rubber. In this instance, that includes chemically recycled AMG GT3 racing tires — processed in line with the mass balance approach.
