Our CEO, David Williamson, PhD, participated in Sourcing Journal’s Sustainability Summit in New York. The event brought together industry leaders, experts and innovators to address the most pressing challenges and opportunities in sustainability within the fashion and apparel sectors. 

Dr. Williamson spoke on the “Next Generation Materials: Opportunities and Challenges” panel with Ross McBee, Co-Founder and Chief Scientific Officer at TômTex, and Moderator Alex Harrell, Staff Writer at Sourcing Journal.

 From concept to consumer-ready products, the path to scale next-gen materials has many steps. One of the most critical ingredients in making this shift from invention and R&D to retail is commitment from implementation partners. This panel brought executives from these firms together to discuss their journeys and strategies, why language matters when talking about materials, how financial and other costs should factor into materials’ market positioning and which value propositions help convince brands to adopt new innovations.
